Pallotti Center is Hiring!

We are looking for a new Program Director at the St. Vincent Pallotti Center.

Program Director Job Announcement

The St. Vincent Pallotti Center is seeking a resourceful and innovative candidate for the full-time position of Program Director. The Pallotti Center is a national organization known for promoting a culture of Catholic-based service and equipping full-time volunteers and their programs with pertinent resources. Many of the responsibilities at the Pallotti Center are carried out collaboratively, but this position is specifically charged with producing all publications, serving as a liaison to volunteer program directors and staff, and coordinating outreach and services to former volunteers.

Primary Responsibilities:
Produce the annual Connections directory of volunteer service. This includes managing the project from data collection through layout and design to coordinating the printing and mailing.
Coordinate the development, layout, production, and mailing of two newsletters: Shared Visions (produced quarterly) for current volunteers and Staying Connected (produced 3-4 times per year) for former volunteers.
Communicate with volunteer program directors and staff about the annual Connections renewal as well as other services offered by the Pallotti Center.
Manage resources for former volunteers and outreach efforts to former volunteers, including the What’s Next? Notebook, Pallotti Center Job Bank, Network of Former Volunteers, and events for former volunteers.

Other Responsibilities:
With the Pallotti Center staff, write and edit in-house publications: Shared Visions, Staying Connected, Connections Directory, “What’s Next?” Notebook.
Participate in the Pallotti Center’s mission education and outreach efforts by giving presentations at churches nationally during the summer.
Assist in updating the website and providing content to the Office and Website Manager.
Travel to an annual, national conference; participate in local events as relevant.
Contribute reports to board meetings and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
Preference is for a candidate who has previous experience as a full-time volunteer and is familiar with Catholic culture. Computer skills with the Microsoft Office Suite are required. Editing and good communication skills required; desktop publishing and layout experience desired. Experience with Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Access highly desirable.

Candidate must have excellent organizational and time-management skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a small office team. Public speaking skills are highly desirable. A bachelor’s degree is required. Spanish skills desirable, but not required. Please note that due to occasional travel and the on-going need for close collaboration with fellow staff members, experience has proven that pursuing a graduate degree is not compatible with working full-time for the St. Vincent Pallotti Center.

Benefits:
Salary is in the mid-30s, commensurate with skills and experience. Position also offers a competitive benefits package including medical and dental insurance, two weeks paid vacation, free parking and 403(b) eligibility after one year of service. The Pallotti Center is located in NE Washington, DC, across the street from The Catholic University of America (on Metro’s Red Line). For more information about the mission of the St. Vincent Pallotti Center, please visit our website at www.pallotticenter.org.

How to Apply:
Please send resume, cover letter and a list of three references to National Director Mike Goggin at mikegoggin@pallotticenter.org. Position available immediately. The stated application deadline is February 1, 2011, but the position is open until filled. EOE.
