Action Against Import of Hazardous Wastes
The import of hazardous wastes including e-waste, plastic scrap, clinical and related wastes into India is subject to the provisions of Hazardous Wastes (Management, Handling and Tran boundary Movement) Rules. As per the Rules, import of recyclable wastes, such as plastic scrap, e-waste, is permitted only for recycling or recovery or reuse. Import for clinical and related wastes (hazardous medical waste) listed at the entry A 4020 in Schedule VI of these Rules is prohibited into the country. Archives
